The Ukrainian Veterinary Medical Foundation (UVMF) is the charitable arm of the Ukrainian Small Animals Veterinary Association (USAVA).
Our mission is to rescue and care for animals in need during these challenging times. We have provided veterinary care to over 29,000 animals, nearly 32,500 animals have been vaccinated, 11,500 sterilized, and over 20,000 microchipped. In addition, we supply food to shelters and volunteers caring for stray animals.
In 2024 we established charity clinics to provide vital services, with operations currently in Kherson, Nikopol and Zaporizhzhia, and another clinic opened up in Irpin this September.
Despite the ongoing war we continue providing professional growth and postgraduate education for veterinarians. We are committed to ensuring that their skills and knowledge continue to evolve so that they can treat animals using modern methods.
In 2024, we conducted seven Veterinary Medicine schools and a forum attended by 857 participants, with over 350 individuals joining the USAVA International Congress.
Our main projects for 2025 will be:
- Program BASED where each letter represents the direction of our help:
B – help for veterinary business
A – help for animals
S – help for shelters
E – help for education
D – help for those vets and their families affected by war devastation
